No. 015 · Since 2023 · Ongoing
Dotdat Art marketplace, in public beta.
A curated marketplace that connects artists from BFA and MFA programmes with new collectors. Artists join by invitation, list originals and prints, and are paid out after delivery; collectors find work by style and price. I co-founded it with Pel Peltier, designed it and built it. In public beta at app.dotdatart.com.

iThe loop
Artists list their work, collectors discover it, an order is only charged once the artist confirms it, and the artist is paid after delivery.
iiAn artist's way in
By invitation first. An account, an artist page, then a readiness check (terms, a Stripe account, a shipping origin) before anything can be listed.
iiiAn order, step by step
Payment, the order, any problem and the payout each run on their own track, so a refund never gets tangled with a payout.
ivThe artist's side
Selling, collecting and tracking in one place: uploads, ownership history and private messages, and payments for artists.
vThe admin side
A custom admin panel instead of an off-the-shelf one: moderation, cases, refunds, payouts, legal versions and an audit log.
viHow it's built
Two React apps on Railway; Supabase for accounts, data, files and server functions; Stripe Connect for payments; Resend for email. The diagrams describe what is implemented; what is switched on in the beta varies by feature.
viiThree years
A WordPress site in 2023, the design in Figma in 2024, a FlutterFlow build and a prototype in 2025, the production app in 2026.
Co-founded with Pel Peltier. Implemented architecture and workflows; deployment varies by feature.
For foundersA working prototype in two weeksPrototype, then build · €4,500 excl. VAT · a 2-week sprint; the build is quoted, typically €20,000 to €45,000
